8 journal prompts for mental health

As some but maybe not all of you know I have mental health. So, here are eight prompts to journal on.




Journaling can be a powerful tool for managing mental health. Here are some prompts to get you started:

  1. Gratitude Journaling: Write about three things you're grateful for today. How did they make you feel?

  2. Emotion Tracking: Describe a recent situation that made you feel anxious/sad/angry/happy. What triggered these emotions? How did you respond?

  3. Self-Compassion: Write a letter to yourself, showing kindness and understanding for a mistake or struggle you're experiencing.

  4. Goal Setting: What are three small, achievable goals you can set for yourself this week? How do you plan to accomplish them?

  5. Mindfulness Practice: Describe a moment today when you felt fully present. What were you doing, and how did it feel?

  6. Positive Affirmations: Write down three affirmations that resonate with you. Repeat them to yourself throughout the day.

  7. Self-Care Reflection: Reflect on your self-care routine. What activities make you feel recharged and cared for? How can you incorporate more of them into your life?

  8. Stress Management: Describe a recent stressful situation. How did you cope with it? What could you do differently next time?
