This month been a hard month for me as a lot of healing has happened this year. But also, an increase in my flash back of my past traumas. I got a nine to five job again I started back on April 6th and it been one the best jobs I’ve had in a long time. I am also still running this blog and working on my art business. With that said life become stressful and my healing been hindering but I am stronger than ever before so I know I can get through this season of anxious and flashbacks. Today I want to share some facts about PTSD and some tips to help you cope. What is post- traumatic stress disorder? Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a serious mental condition that some people develop after a shocking, terrifying, or dangerous event. These events are called traumas. After a trauma, it’s common to struggle with fear, anxiety, and sadness. You may have upsetting memories or find it hard to sleep. For me specifically I’ve had PTSD since eleven when my first major trauma of being raped for an extend period of time by a family member. I never got therapy till I was 16 and that’s when I began my journey of medications to help with my flashbacks, nightmares and just general memories. Now at the age of 25 I am in a weird season of life where my medication is working and then again anniversary happen and I get depressed again. I am stronger than ever before. I am in a healthy relationship so it’s a mental battle when flashbacks happen because I can’t convince my brain that I am safe now. Let’s move on to the ways I've learned to cope. First. I list them out them go into more details.
